It’s easy to tell a friend to just let stuff go. That’s because you or I am not in their situation. When “being there” for someone, be careful not to exclude empathy. Understand and acknowledge where your friend is mentally or emotionally. Provide your supportive suggestions with love and encouragement. Some people need a little honey while others can take a dose of vinegar to get out of their slump. Discern wisely. Advise cautiously. Encouraging sincerely.
